No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle - publishers confirmed!
During Marvelous Entertainment’s TGS International Press Event today, the company offered a few more details about Desperate Struggle. The game is only being developed for the Wii, is set for release next year, and is being made by the original No More Heroes creative team. International publishing has also already been arranged, as Rising Star will again handle the European release, while Marvelous will copublish the title in North America through a deal with Xseed Games. - Gamespot

Using 4GB SD cards on Wii, decreasing transfer times
Nintendo has officially stated that the Wii will only support SD cards up to 2GB. However, GoNintendo friend Knoxximus has figured out a way to trick the Wii into thinking that a 4GB card is actually a 2GB card. This method will also dramatically increase SD card transfer speeds. Take a look:
From: Wii - To: SD
Mega Man 9 - 66 Blocks -
2GB SD transfer time: 4 mins 22 sec
4GB SD transfer time: 18 sec
Sin & Punishment - 287 Blocks -
2GB SD transfer time: 17mins 37sec
4GB SD transfer time: 1min 16sec
You can also look into buying an SD card with a high transfer rate, which will also help in transferring games and channels to SD cards.
Check out how to use 4GB cards here.

No More Heroes 2 debut trailer
I just had to post this video because the original is one of my favourite games on the Wii. I was starting to lose hope of a sequel, but here it is, clear as day.

DSi consumer base will most likely be the hardcore gamers.
“Right out of the gate [the DSi audience] is probably the hardcore gamers. They’re usually the early adopters that want to get the latest version of something, and they’ll be the ones that put it through its paces the hardest and give us all kind of feedback and tell us what they like and don’t like. [laughs]” - Nintendo of America spokesperson Charlie Scibetta

Nintendo Zone heading to North America?
Nintendo, quit teasing us! Nintendo of Japan announced that they are expanding the DS Spot service to a new service called Nintendo Zone. The new service will allow DSi owners to download games to their DSi system, as well as DS Lite owners to download demos and videos just like the existing DS Download Stations. The service will be available at retail stores and McDonalds in Japan.
Now, Nintendo of America has trademarked 'Nintendo Zones' for North American markets. Of course, the service wouldn't roll out here until the same time as the DSi, "well into 2009". Damn you, NoA!

Nintendo Treehouse employee talks about an exciting mystery game!
“Umm, I’ll say it was exciting but I can’t tell you what it was. Because I looked around and basically, I said to my boss, ‘Really? Are you serious?!’ and he said ‘Yeah, I’m not kidding.’ So, I’m like ‘oooookay!’ [laughs] So I started doing…something. Something exciting and something unexpected — something completely unexpected.” - JC Rodrigo, Nintendo of America Treehouse division
Interesting! It's obviously a game we haven't heard of before, but one that's been a secret for a long time. After all, this employee started work in February! What could it be, any guesses?

Nintendo Japan registers 'DSSCAN' trademark. What is it?
![]()
As some people are pointing out, this could be a technology similar to that of the GBA eReader. I would assume that DSSCAN would use the DSi's camera., however the trademark is listed as "game equipment". So, it is an add-on? Hopefully we will learn more soon.

Wired interview with Cammie Dunaway
Wired got to sit down with Cammie Dunaway at Nintendo's recent Media Summit in San Francisco. She discussed the DSi, Club Nintendo, and more. It's an interesting interview, so click on over to have a read. Here's an excerpt:
Wired.com: Tell me about Club Nintendo. You made a small announcement about this — can you share any more details?
Dunaway: No more details. We’re still working out what all the prizes are going to be. We’d love to hear ideas from the fanbase about what kind of things they’d like to see included in Club Nintendo. You will be able to take over some of the points that you have in your current My Nintendo account. It won’t necessarily be all titles, but some Wii and DS titles. We want people to be able to start off with some points. And it’s going to work similar to the way it works in Japan and Europe. Where you get credit for purchasing games and filling out surveys, credit for indicating advance interest in titles ... those same features.

The Conduit will support WiiSpeak, MotionPlus (?)
“We’re hooking it [MotionPlus] up,” said Nofsinger. “We want to support it. Probably for this version of the game there’s not going to be a whole ton of really extensive use of the Wii MotionPlus. For the sequel to the game, we definitely do want to incorporate more melee and things like that. We want to support it.”
I really don't see how The Conduit can make use of MotionPlus. In any case, I'm happy to see WiiSpeak support in there. Get ready for some killer online play!

MadStone releasing on WiiWare this Monday in North America!
RiverMan Media announced today that its anticipated puzzler MadStone will be released onto Nintendo’s WiiWare service on October 6th. MadStone will initially be released in North America for 800 Wii Points. Called “Fresh and unique” by WiiWare-World.com and a “frantic game of mass destruction” by IGN, Madstone will thrill players with its fast-paced, innovative gameplay.
In the dynamic puzzle game, players must clear the path for their elemental MadStones to reach the bottom of the screen. Blocks can be broken by striking them directly or by the force of falling objects. Novices try frantically to break enough blocks while master players create cascading collapses with only a handful of direct strikes. Create a large enough combo, and players can shake the Wii Remote to cause an avalanche of destruction, leaving their opponents in ruins. MadStone features a mystical single-player journey and competitive two-player mode.
RiverMan Media is a small independent game developer located in Tuscon, Arizon. Founded by brothers Jacob and Paul Stevens, RiverMan Media’s previous titles include the PC classics Cash Cow and Primate Panic.
